Body Procedures
A personalized combination of breast and body procedures that restores pre-pregnancy contours and reclaims confidence in a single recovery.
Overview
Motherhood is one of the most fulfilling experiences in a woman’s life. However, the journey of pregnancy and childbirth can leave a lasting impact on the body, often resulting in sagging breasts, stretched skin, and separated abdominal muscles. While these changes are a natural part of the process, they can also be physically uncomfortable. Moreover, the transition from one’s pre-baby to post-baby body can have a negative impact on a woman’s sense of self, leaving her feeling self-conscious and unattractive.
The good news is that help is available to women who desire to achieve the body they want. Dr. Hua offers the Mommy Makeover with the goal of restoring a woman’s pre-pregnancy appearance, repairing or reversing the damage, and achieving a contoured physique to reclaim the confidence she deserves.

Overview
A Mommy Makeover is a combination of procedures designed to address the areas of the body most affected by pregnancy and childbirth, typically the breasts and abdomen.
If you have worked hard to lose weight but are not fully satisfied with the results, a Mommy Makeover may be right for you.
The greatest benefit of a Mommy Makeover is renewed confidence in your body and recharged vitality to match. Other benefits include:
Another benefit of combining procedures is that it consolidates recovery time. If you underwent a c-section, a tummy tuck may be particularly beneficial in improving upon the aesthetics of the lower abdomen.

Techniques
There are a variety of procedures a Mommy Makeover may consist of. Below is a basic menu of the procedures most commonly involved.
Childbirth and breastfeeding can result in loss of volume and elasticity, as well as asymmetrical breasts. Breast augmentation increases breast volume and enhances shape using silicone or saline implants, restoring youthful, feminine curves.
It’s extremely common for women to experience deflated, sagging breasts and stretched nipples after breastfeeding. A breast lift is an excellent solution for ptosis (sagging) of the breasts. This procedure is designed to remove excess skin, elevate the breasts, and reposition the breasts and areola. The size of the areola may be adjusted during this procedure as well. The result is a perky and youthful aesthetic. Read how a Mommy Makeover breast lift can restore shape.
Pregnancy and childbirth compromise a woman’s entire abdomen, from the rib cage to the pubic bone. After one or several pregnancies, you may be left with excess skin and fat, poor skin elasticity, stretched connective tissue, and muscle separation (diastasis recti).
A tummy tuck (abdominoplasty) addresses all of these concerns. A surgeon removes excess skin and fat, oftentimes including stretch marks, and tightens the abdominal muscles. The result is a flat tummy, strengthened muscles, and a slim waist.
After childbirth, many women experience pockets of fat that occur anywhere on the body. Sometimes these resolve as her body heals from childbirth, but sometimes they do not.
Liposuction removes excess fat. Common areas for liposuction include the stomach, hips, and thighs, but this procedure effectively contours the back, neck, upper arms, and knees as well.
The Procedure
A Mommy Makeover is performed under general anesthesia. It is an outpatient procedure.
The length of time surgery takes depends on the combination of surgeries decided upon. Dr. Hua can perform multiple procedures during the same surgery, or he may decide to take a staged approach. The specifics are highly individualized.
Prior to surgery, you and Dr. Hua will create a surgical plan to determine which combination of procedures is best for your goals and anatomy. During this consultation, he will walk you through what to expect from surgery.
Results
Initial Mommy Makeover results are immediately visible, but final results may take several months to become fully apparent as your appearance improves consistently.
If you received a breast augmentation, implants will settle over time and will need to be replaced eventually.
Incision lines will never disappear completely, but they will fade over time, a trade-off many women feel is worth it in the scope of their improved self-confidence.
Future weight gain or pregnancies can reverse the results of surgery, but many women feel so confident they make efforts to maintain a healthy lifestyle in celebration of their new body. Surgery cannot prevent the aging process, but your results will be long-lasting. See patient results in our Mommy Makeover before and after gallery.
Recovery
Your recovery time will vary depending on the specific procedures included in your Mommy Makeover. Arrange for someone to assist with your care during the first few days following your procedure. Depending on the physical demands of your job, it’s advisable to plan for approximately two weeks off work. During this time, someone else should be responsible for caring for your children entirely for at least two weeks. It’s essential to refrain from strenuous activities, including lifting your children or heavy objects like laundry baskets, for four to six weeks. Over the course of these six weeks, you will gradually ease back into your normal routine.
A full recovery, including the resolution of swelling and numbness, can take several months. Scars can take up to two years to fade and flatten.
Dr. Hua will provide you with detailed aftercare instructions. Follow these carefully to promote the best healing and avoid complications, and make every effort to keep all of your follow-up appointments.
Cost
The cost of a Mommy Makeover varies highly depending on factors such as your goals and the combination of procedures you choose. Dr. Hua will provide you with detailed information pertaining to the exact cost at the time of your consultation. Ask about our payment plans.
