Natural-Looking Volume
Your own fat creates a result that looks and feels natural, never silicone or implant-like.

Body Procedures
Autologous fat grafting that reshapes and enhances the buttocks while slimming the waist, hips, or thighs, using natural-looking volume from your own tissue.
Overview
Regardless of the time period or aesthetic trend of the moment, a curvaceous figure has always been desirable. From the voluptuous women of Baroque paintings to the allure of stars like Marilyn Monroe and Rihanna, curves are always “in.” However, not everyone is naturally round in the right places. For women who want butt augmentation without implants, the Brazilian Butt Lift (BBL) has quickly become one of the most popular cosmetic procedures in the world. This surgery not only enhances your buttocks but also slims down areas like your waist, hips, or thighs in the process.
Dr. Hua performs BBL surgery at Designer Plastic Surgery in Richmond, TX, for patients from Katy, Richmond, and Fulshear. If you are researching a BBL in the Katy and Richmond area, the sections below cover how the procedure works and what affects Brazilian butt lift cost.

Overview
A Brazilian Butt Lift, often referred to as a BBL, is a cosmetic procedure that uses your own fat to enhance the shape and size of your buttocks. It’s a two-step process consisting of liposuction and fat transfer. First, fat is gently removed from areas where you have excess, usually the abdomen, hips, thighs, or lower back. Then, that fat is purified and strategically injected into your buttocks (a process known as fat transfer to buttocks) to create a fuller, rounder shape.
Unlike silicone butt implants, a BBL uses fat harvested from your body, which results in a more natural look and feel. Plus, the benefits of body contouring, combined with buttock enhancement, make the BBL especially appealing to women seeking a more shapely figure.
Benefits
01
Your own fat creates a result that looks and feels natural, never silicone or implant-like.
02
Liposuction simultaneously refines the donor sites for a more sculpted overall figure.
03
Compared to buttock implants, a BBL avoids implant-related surgery while still achieving meaningful enhancement.
04
Once transferred fat establishes a blood supply, it lasts like any other fat on your body.
05
A more shapely figure to wear with pride in clothing, swimwear, or athletic apparel.
Candidacy
A BBL is an excellent option for women who want to augment the volume and shape of their buttocks without implants; however, not everyone is a good candidate. Good candidates for a Brazilian Butt Lift are nonsmoking patients in good overall health. Ideal candidates include those who have sufficient excess fat to harvest from areas such as the abdomen, flanks, or thighs. You must also be willing to follow post-op instructions to ensure that the grafted fat settles in properly, and have realistic expectations for your results.
The best way to determine if you’re a good candidate for a Brazilian Butt Lift is to schedule a consultation with Dr. Jack Hua at Designer Plastic Surgery by calling (832) 930-2678.
Techniques
Brazilian Butt Lift surgery typically takes two to four hours and is performed under general anesthesia.
Dr. Hua begins the procedure by making small incisions and inserting a cannula (a thin, hollow tube) to gently dislodge and remove excess fat from targeted areas of your body. Once the fat is removed, it is processed in a centrifuge to separate the healthy fat cells from excess fluids and other impurities.
The purified fat is then carefully and precisely injected into your buttocks using small syringes, strategically placed to sculpt a fuller, more lifted appearance that complements your overall proportions.
BBL can be combined with additional cosmetic procedures for a more fully sculpted result, tailored to your treatment plan.
Recovery
After your Brazilian Butt Lift, you can expect some mild soreness and bruising in the treated areas, which typically lasts for up to two weeks. Any discomfort you feel can be managed with either prescription medication or over-the-counter pain relievers.
One of the most critical aspects of your BBL recovery is protecting the newly transferred fat cells. These fat cells are especially fragile in the early stages of healing, as they need time to establish a blood supply in their new location. To help maximize your results, it’s essential to avoid sitting directly on your buttocks or lying on your back for at least two weeks, and possibly longer. Putting pressure on your buttocks too soon can compromise fat survival and lead to less-than-optimal results.
Dr. Hua will provide specific aftercare guidelines to help you as you recover from BBL surgery, including tips for sitting properly without placing direct pressure on your buttocks. Many patients find it helpful to use a BBL pillow or a donut-shaped cushion that allows you to sit while keeping your weight off the newly enhanced area. You should plan to support your buttocks this way for up to eight weeks, or until Dr. Hua clears you to sit normally again. Additionally, you will need to sleep on your stomach or side to keep pressure off the fat grafts while your body fully heals.
You will also need to follow his instructions for liposuction recovery, including wearing necessary compression garments and adhering to activity restrictions.
Results
Immediately after surgery, you’ll notice a change in the shape of your behind. About 60% to 80% of the transferred fat will survive permanently, and your body reabsorbs the rest in the first few weeks. Dr. Hua may “overfill” the area slightly to account for this.
Swelling will also temporarily distort your final look; however, you’ll begin to see your more stable, final results around three to six months after BBL surgery as swelling subsides and the fat becomes well-established.
Your Brazilian Butt Lift results are considered permanent, and once the transferred fat has settled, it will act just like the rest of the fat in your body. This means that the fat cells will grow or shrink in response to weight fluctuations, which can impact the appearance of your BBL results. That’s why it’s essential to maintain a stable weight after your procedure.
Cost
Every Brazilian butt lift is planned around your shape and goals, so Dr. Hua provides a personalized quote at your consultation. These are the main factors that affect BBL cost:
A BBL is cosmetic and is generally not covered by insurance. Many patients spread the cost over time with BBL financing and payment plans through Cherry, CareCredit, or PatientFi. When you are ready, request a BBL consultation for a quote based on your goals.
